Remote Access Software Computer Requirements

Testing the Connection

If there is no computer near the host computer, the testing will have to be done elsewhere. To test the connection, the first step is to write down the unique IP address of the host computer. From the computer that is being accessed remotely, launch internet explorer. Using the URL: http://uniqueIPadress:port/tsweb/ type in the IP address from the host computer, connect on the page, and you should then have access to the host computer.

 

Computer Requirements

A host computer will normally need to be running at least Windows XP or a higher version of Windows. Other requirements for running Remote Access software will depend on the type of software that is chosen. Many web-based remote access programs can be downloaded onto almost any type of computer. The steps above are for installing the most basic Windows form of remote access software.

 

When considering remote access software, starting with the Windows version is the easiest way to go. Once you have discovered what your specific needs are, updating to another software program may be necessary. How accurate are remote viewers when performing a simple test?

Such as 'seeing' a Zener card in an adjoining room?

Surely something like that would be easy to test instead of trying to see some location on the other side of the world and then subjectively deciding whether the two squiggles and a circle that the test subject drew are really a good representation of the scene that they supposedly saw?

Unfortunately that seems to be a problem in the experimental designs. When you are asking someone to remote view a complex image, it becomes unclear what constitutes a "miss". It can become a matter of opinion, which is a poor way to control an experiment that should ideally be rigorously objective. This is especially true when you have the same person acting as judge for all the trials.

I suspect, but admit it's only a suspicion, that we don't have reports of remote viewing studies using simple geometric figures because they turned out to be unsuccessful, and therefore unreported. Simple geometric figures don't afford the many opportunities for subjective hits.

But I would very much like to see remote viewing experiments using something like you suggested (Zener cards) to eliminate this problem. It would help greatly with both the statistical analysis and with providing evidence -- if it should be the case -- that both skeptics and believers can objectively accept.
